Now that summer has come and gone there's nothing that brings back the memory of summer days, green fields, flowers blooming and the taste of honey. Although at the time I was photographing the Chinook Company's Art and Cherie Andrews I wasn't thinking about summer ending and winter beginning. I started photographing Art and Cherie Andrews in April because I wanted to know something about apiculture besides the dictionary definition.
So after I was done my shift at the Herald I would drive to Okotoks where they are and start photographing. I brought my son with me too and as much as I was hoping he'd be interested in the bees, he wasn't. One bee managed to sting him on the finger and that was it, bees were no longer interesting to him or his friend.
Check out the story by Jacquie Moore in the November 19th edition of Swerve magazine along with my photos.
